History

EmbedTek was started in 2003 by Kent Tabor to develop embedded computing and panel PC solutions for OEM’s. Kent had many years of experience in the Embedded Computing market place having founded Granite Microsystems in the 1980’s. EmbedTek Successfully introduced several Panel PC solutions, custom electronics and embedded computers for OEM’s.

EmbedTek later engaged with Brunswick Corporation to develop integrated marine electronic systems for their marine division and entertainment systems for Brunswick’s LifeFitness division. Brunswick purchased EmbedTek to jumpstart their technology division development within their company. Kent Tabor later purchased the Company back from Brunswick Corporation to expand to other markets.

Dan Aicher, Ted Platz and Tom Fotsch invested in EmbedTek and joined the management team in 2010. All three have extensive experience in business development including embedded computing businesses. They invested to provide the investment capital to EmbedTek to expand its capabilities, bring in additional talent and to develop its quality and infrastructure systems.
