IT MANAGER

EmbedTek is a Waukesha, Wisconsin-based firm that designs and manufactures embedded systems and develops software for OEMs. These systems include deeply embedded computer systems, liquid crystal display (LCD) based products, industrial and factory floor computers, industrial I/O & power control and board level component subsystems. The Information Technology function is critical to the Company’s success in providing quality products to our customers in a timely fashion. The IT Manager role is critical to EmbedTek’s growth strategy. EmbedTek has made strategic investments in the IT function to enable IT to be a long-term competitive advantage for the Company.

This position provides an opportunity to participate in the early stages of a growing business and to build a customer-focused manufacturing environment in support of the company’s strategic growth.

  • Define and execute the strategic direction of all information processing and communication systems and operations enabling the IT function to be a competitive advantage.
  • Lead the continued use of new areas and development of the Epicor ERP platform to achieve strategic objectives.
  • Create and support various data queries and tools to support the needs of the business.
  • Direct, plan, execute all information system activities of the company.
  • Manage the hardware and infrastructure needs of the company, including clients, servers, network, internet, email, phones, customer portal, etc.
  • Identify and scope opportunities to drive business improvement(s) through use of IT and process development. Collaborate with other leaders in the business to this end. 
  • Engage with customers to scope opportunities to utilize IT to add value and drive closer relationships between companies.
  • Prepare budget recommendations for the information technology operating and capital budgets.
  • Analyze operations data and institute procedural changes where warranted to effect cost reduction through more efficient systems, operations, and schedules.
  • This position has supervisory responsibilities for the information technology staff.

Required:

  • Experience with implementing and managing an ERP system in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to write queries of the Epicor database, including writing BAQ’s, BPM’s and Functions in Epicor, as well as creating dashboards and cubes within the EPM application
  • Experience with Kinetic Application Studio and coding in C# for customizations and endpoint functions
  • Experience with database relationships concepts using SQL Server
  • Ability to analyze, develop, and maintain complex queries, data views, and stored procedures.
  • Experience with managing all aspects of the network environment including network and server hardware, client management, information security, backup practices, email applications and conversions, etc.
  • Experience supervising software programmers
  • Experience with Epicor Kinetic ERP system is preferred
  • Due to nature of position, must provide an acceptable background check

 

Preferred:

  • Post-graduate work in a related field.
  • Training and experience in manufacturing and other business processes and systems utilized by EmbedTek. 
  • Project management training and experience.
  • Management and supervision training and experience.

Bachelor degree from a four-year college or university in a related field plus seven to ten years of related experience managing an Information Technology department or information system projects.

The candidate must have good written and verbal communication skills.

The candidate should have good skills in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint programs.  Should be detail orientated and able to handle multiple tasks at one time.  The candidate must have very good organizational skills.  The candidate must be self-motivated and able to work as a member of a team.
